Ballet Intensive with Miss Grace

If you want to work on building strong foundations to help not just your ballet technique and learn excerpts from an iconic full length ballet then come join Ms Grace for this year’s ballet summer intensive! Summer at the Lake! Bring your yoga/pilates mats for morning conditioning and leave with a great set of pilates inspired exercises to strengthening and support a strong body. These excercise will help you find the correct muscle connections to tackle fun and challenging ballet classes each day. Summer at the Lake will end with a showcase of the excerpts we will be working on from one of the most popular full length story ballets, Swan Lake! 

Boot Camp

Bootcamp #1:

Description - Bootcamp #1 is a week-long intensive designed to boost an intermediate dancer's stamina, technique, flexibility and skills before and in addition to their summer training. Dancers will take class with a variety of DSOM instructors specializing in jazz technique, hip hop, ballet, contemporary, broadway styles, lyrical, tap, and improvisational techniques. All who participate will leave inspired by new music and movement styles, and excited to jump into a summer of exploration of dance. Parents are also invited to attend an end-of-camp showcase on 6/21 to see some of the new skills and combinations dancers have mastered throughout the week. 

Bootcamp #2:

6/24-6/28 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Price - $350.00

Description - Bootcamp #2 is a week-long intensive designed to boost an advanced dancer's stamina, technique, flexibility and skills before and in addition to their summer training. Dancers will take class with a variety of DSOM instructors specializing in jazz technique, hip hop, ballet, contemporary, broadway styles, lyrical, tap, and improvisational techniques. Bootcamp #2 will also feature numerous classes with REVEL Dance Convention's Trevor Sones and professional dancer/choreographer Emily McFarland. All who participate will leave inspired by new music and movement styles, and excited to jump into a summer of exploration of dance. Parents are also invited to attend an end-of-camp showcase on 6/28 to see some of the new skills and combinations dancers have mastered throughout the week.

About Trevor

Originally from Clearfield, Pa – Trevor received a BA degree in Dance from Mercyhurst University.  National Tour Credits: CATS, Beauty and the Beast.  TV/Film Credits: ZIPS Dry Cleaners, The Knot, CATS National Tour commercial, “Step Up 3D”, Good Morning America, “Do You Dance, Ms. Parker?”. Trevor has worked extensively with Royal Caribbean as a Dancer/Dance Captain (Hairspray, MAMMA MIA), Associate Choreographer (GREASE, Name That Tune), and Director (Bada Bing Bada Boom).  He then worked with RWS Entertainment Group in NYC as a Dancer/Dance Captain, Casting Assistant, Associate Choreographer, and Director/Choreographer.  Currently, Trevor is a Regional Director/Guest Teacher for Encore DCS and on Faculty/Regional Director for REVEL Dance Convention! Most recently he toured Germany, Switzerland, and Dubai with SweetBird Productions "Rock The Ballet X" and "Romeo and Juliet" a Dancer/Dance Captain. Follow his journey at @trevorsones

About Emily

Emily is from Haverhill, Massachusetts where she grew up dancing at Karla Pattavina’s Dance Academy. She competed in numerous dance competitions and at dance conventions since the age of 7, and has won multiple national titles, high score awards, and choreography awards. Emily trained in tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, acro, and ballet, but considers ballet her favorite style and her strength. Emily is a certified instructor of Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT), which is acute training in the activation of muscle memory, building of ballet exercises using the correct muscle groups, and the application of these methods in ballet class. She has taught and choreographed all throughout the country and internationally, including a two week residency in San Jose, Costa Rica. Emily has worked assisting many choreographers with industry work including Tessandra Chavez, Tyce Diorio, Mandy Korpinen, and Eddie Strachan. She was a lead pro-assistant at Radix for 3 years and taught the Rookie Program as well. She’s now dancing in LA and working towards roles in TV and film.
