Maria McInnis:
Why do you teach?
Inspired by old school classical tap, Jason Janas, Chloe Arnold, and Nick Bowman, I love sharing my passion for dance, from my soul to my feet,. Passing that on in the best possible way I know how, I am able to see these kiddos grow and mature into amazing dancers and overall beautiful people, from the inside out. It brings joy to my life and I hope to theirs.
Your favorite dance moment?
Being a dancer and a teacher, there are an infinite number of favorite moments that stand out for me. But if I were to include mom into that equation, there is nothing better than the very first time I was on stage with my baby girl!
Why you teach at DSOM?
DSOM is a one of a kind dance family. From the teachers, to the dancers, to the parents, there is a level of support, commitment, dedication, and quality like no other. And it radiates throughout the studio, across all genres, from the classroom to the stage.
Personal Fun Fact
I am very afraid of bananas and I dance in the kitchen all the time while cooking & baking.
How long you have been dancing and teaching?
I have been a dancer since the age of 3 and DSOM teacher since 2007.
Message to my students:
Every day…be fabulous: Be kind, Learn one new thing, Have fun, Give your best!
To my Dancers, remember that dance enriches your life in a multitude of ways. Life is a dance – find yourself, lose yourself, and embrace your personal growth in doing both. In every movement, on and off the dance floor, find your JOY!
